Development Management Development Plan Document

The Council has consulted on a 'Preferred Approach' Development Management Policies Development Plan Document.

This page has links to the Consultation Portal and  various background documents.

The ‘Development Management Policies DPD – Preferred Approach’ forms part of the District’s statutory Development Plan and is just one of the documents that will make up the new style ‘Local Plan’. It will support the Core Strategy (adopted 2008) by containing a set of development management policies to be applied locally in the assessment and determination of planning applications.

The ‘Preferred Approach’ DPD has been prepared as in informal consultation document to run alongside a statutory public consultation in accordance with Regulation 18 of the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012. Your views are sought on the ‘Preferred Approach’ DPD, as well as on any additional policies which you consider ought to be contained within the document, or alternatively whether there are any policies you consider should be omitted. The Document also proposes some changes to the existing Green Belt Settlements. It is proposed that Domewood, Dormans Park, Limpsfield Chart, Nutfield and Tandridge village will no longer be suitable locations for infill development and will be subject to general Green Belt policies instead.  Some boundary changes are also proposed to the other Green Belt Settlements.

The ‘Development Management Policies DPD – Preferred Approach’ consultation is now closed, it took place between Thursday 31st January and Friday 15th March 2013.
