Fee information

Tandridge's building control fees are calculated the following table link.

BC scale of charges 1 April 2011

A new fee structure was brought in on 1 October 2010 for all Local Authority Building Control offices (LABC) remain competitive and that our customers are only charged for the actual cost of providing the building control service. The new fee structure has enabled us to offer some immediate discounts for example; for applications which involve an extension or loft conversion (Table B) and internal alterations (Table C) which are to be carried out at the same time, a 25% reduction of the Table C charge is applicable.

Likewise where an application for a larger project is to be submitted, for example a house over 300m sq or a single storey extension over 100m sq we can provide a bespoke quote for the project within a very short time frame and our fees for this type of project should be considerably less than if they had been calculated under the existing Schedule 3 fees.

Types of application

There are two main types of application, however the total fee payable for either type of application is the same.

• Full Plans Application - The plan fee is payable when submitting the application and then an inspection fee is payable once we have carried out your first inspection on site.
• Building Notice Application - The Building Notice fee is payable in full at the time you deposit your application.

Please note that some works for disabled people are exempt from charges. Please refer to Building Control if you are unsure whether this is applicable to your application.
