Making a building regulations application

Before you begin work you will need to submit a building regulations application form and the appropriate fee to us together with any relevant plans and calculations. In the case of a Building Notice application we will usually need this at least 48 hours before you start the work however a Full Plans application will need to be submitted earlier than this to enable us to complete the plan checking of your project before your builder starts on site.

You can choose to either:

Complete a Building Notice or Full Plans application form over the phone with us**
Print off the appropriate form below under "Forms and fee schedule to download" and complete and post it to us , or
Go to one of the links below under "E-application forms" to complete the appropriate online application form. You will also be able to attach any plans or calculations as well as choose to pay your submission fee online if you wish.

Building Regulation applications for urgent work **

If you need to start work quickly and your application is for straightforward work, such as inserting a steel beam, removing a chimney breast or building a small single storey extension we can complete a Building Notice application form over the phone with you. (If works are of a structural nature we will need calculations at the same time.)

We can also complete a Full Plans application form over the phone with you and take payment for your plan fee. You will then need to forward any relevant plans and calculations to us either by email or post as soon as possible so that we can begin the plan checking process before you start work on site.

Please call one of our admin team on 01883 732871/732852 between 9am-4.30pm Monday to Friday and we will complete the form for you and take your credit card payment so that an inspection can be arranged for the following day if necessary (in the case of a building notice). We will then email or post a copy of the completed form and your fee receipt to you by return.
