The Care Act 2014
The Care Act 2014 came into force on 1 April 2105 and under the Act, local authorities will take on new functions. This is to make sure that people who live in their areas:
- Receive services that prevent their care needs from becoming more serious, or delay the impact of their needs.
- Can get the information and advice they need to make good decisions about care and support.
- Have a range of providers offering a choice of high quality, appropriate services.
Surrey County Council is the lead local authority in Surrey for the provision and commission of support and care services for adults and works closely with Tandridge Council and other organisations to ensure services meet the needs of the local adult population.
