Police and Crime Commissioner

David Munroe is Surrey’s Police and Crime Commissioner. You can contact him in the following ways:

What does the commissioner do?

The Commissioner:

  • Holds the Chief Constable to account for the performance of Surrey Police.
  • Is elected for four year terms of office.
  • Sets the police budget, the police share of council tax and the local Police and Crime Plan which sets out the overall strategy for policing in the area.
  • Is scrutinised by a Police and Crime Panel involving local councillors and members of the public.

The Commissioner replaced the Surrey Police Authority.
