Joint supported housing panel

Joint Supported Housing Panel

Reigate & Banstead Borough Council, Tandridge District Council and Mole Valley District Council are working in partnership to provide appropriate supported housing for those with housing and support needs across East Surrey.

In order to facilitate this, a Joint Supported Housing Register has been developed. All appropriate cases are referred to the Joint Supported Housing Panel for assessment of need, allocation of any available vacancies and the recording of unmet housing need. This helps to inform future housing development.

All referrals to the Panel should be made by the client's key Care Co-ordinator, who should present the case to the Panel at the monthly meeting. If the client does not have a Care Worker, then the Council's Housing Needs section may make a referral. Referrals must be made on the Joint Supported Housing Panel Referral Form, copies of which are available from Housing Needs at the address at the bottom of this page. A copy of the form and the accompanying guidance can also be downloaded by clicking on the links below:

The form must be signed by the client and the referrer. Although the client must be aware of the referral and sign the form, they cannot self-refer or attend the Panel.

All clients are expected to have a local connection with Reigate & Banstead, Tandridge or Mole Valley. They must either live in the area or have close relatives living in the area, i.e. parents or adult brothers or sisters. If a client is living in supported accommodation out of the area because there was not suitable accommodation available in the area and local Adult and Community Care Teams retain responsibility for their care, they will be considered.
