Strategies and policies

East Surrey Housing Strategy

Housing Strategies set out how housing authorities deliver housing services to their residents across all tenures. The East Surrey Strategic Housing Market Assessment 2008 identified a housing market crossing the local council boundaries of Epsom & Ewell, Mole Valley, Reigate & Banstead and Tandridge councils.

These four local authorities, after detailed consultation with local residents and partner organisations, have produced the East Surrey Housing Strategy 2009-13.

An Executive Summary and full Action Plan have also been produced.

The East Surrey Housing Strategy includes three agreed priority policy areas:

• Creating Housing Opportunities
• Improving Housing Standards
• Improving Housing & Support for Vulnerable People

A dedicated local supplement, which looks at the specific housing issues and sets out an action plan for each of the four local authorities has also been produced.

To provide the most up to date information, the East Surrey Housing Market Update 2009 has also been produced.

The strategy has also been subject to an Equality Impact Assesment.

In addition, the strategy is prepared in alignment with the key priorities and objectives of each authority's Sustainable Communities Plan, Corporate Plan and Local Development Framework. We will work towards delivering these priorities across East Surrey, sharing or pooling resources as appropriate, reducing duplication and streamlining processes.

The Surrey Interim Local Investment Plan September 2010 (This link will open in a new window) brings together the plans of all of the districts and boroughs, the county council and key infrastructure providers.
