LABC Warranty awards 'The Bricks'
The Council's Building Control team landed a major win at this year’s LABC Warranty awards 'The Bricks' winning the Bricks & Mortar Partnership Award.
The Partnership Award recognises the local authority Building Control team which demonstrates a proactive approach and provides great customer service.
The Awards, held in London’s Landing Forty Two on 3 November, 2016, were hosted by novelist and TV presenter, Gyles Brandreth. Some 150 of the country’s best house builders and developers attended as well as several local authority Building Control teams.
The Bricks celebrate the best in the house building industry recognising the companies and individuals who stand out from the rest and regardless of size, deliver quality in construction and design.
An award also went to Millwood Designer Homes who won in the Development of the Year category. The Building Control team have been working closely with Millwood, offering pre-application advice and plan checking building regulation applications for projects all over the country.
LABC SE Building Excellence Awards
Tandridge Building Control clients were celebrating at the finals of
the LABC SE Building Excellence Awards held on Friday 24 June at the Grand Hotel, Brighton, scooping two winners' trophies and three highly commended awards. More than 500 local architects and developers gathered with local building control teams from the SE to celebrate their projects being shortlisted from thousands completed in the region in 2015. The annual Awards recognise excellent building and design and celebrate the results that can be achieved through collaborative working of designers, contractors and clients with their local authority Building Control teams.
Based in Blindley Heath AJ Construction has a long established reputation for the highest standards and attention to detail and won the award for Best Local Builder/Master Craftsperson. Whether working on a sympathetic barn conversion showcasing their in-house quality craftsmanship as this photo illustrates, or a domestic extension Shane Day and his team are worthy winners!AJ Construction - Best local builder/master craftsperson
Resimend Ltd - Best domestic extension
Winner of this category was Mark Best of Resimend Ltd. The client's brief to architect Mark Jackson had been to create a modern open plan energy efficient living/work space for them and their family as well as add a master suite with a "wow" factor! The existing configuration of the house was too restrictive and together architect and builder worked on design and practical solutions to create an amazing light filled space. Standards of workmanship were outstanding and Resimend's attention to detail can be seen throughout.
Congratulations were also in order for three other Tandridge nominations which were all highly commended in their categories:
Jameson Architectural Designers & Surveyors for best partnership with a Local Authority building control team
Scandia Hus for best individual dwelling
Louise Benjamin Architectural Services and ASD Builders Ltd for best domestic extension.
A new home built by Steve Lunt of Sceptre Construction was also shortlisted as a finalist in the individual new dwelling category as was a barn conversion built by Sam Morrall of Urban Building by Design.
